Dirt Cheap regularly partners with schools through the Waterloo Region District School Board and other school boards, as part of our mission to support the local community. Some examples of recent partners are Forest Glen Public School and Baden Public School. We believe these partnerships offer a great opportunity to teach children about respecting nature and buying local.

Our fundraisers are door-to-door campaigns run by the students – but don’t worry about kids carrying around bags of dirt! The students distribute Dirt Cheap flyers within their local neighbourhoods and Dirt Cheap does all the heavy lifting. The work takes care of itself!

Money raised through these fundraisers goes towards some of the following things:

  • Class trips for kids
  • Guest speakers at assemblies
  • New playground equipment
  • Upgraded technology in science classrooms or computer labs
  • Improved resources for arts & music departments
  • And many other projects!

We’ve received so much positive feedback from school councils and we look forward to continued success in the future! If you or your school would like to participate in one of these fundraisers, please contact us for more information.

Letters from Our Partners

Good afternoon. The New Hamburg Lioness wish to thank Dirt Cheap for sponsoring our recent Welcome Home Tour on Saturday, June 14th, 2014. We hosted over 230 guests through our seven homes and are pleased to announce we raised over $6,500 to be divided between: Wilmot Family Resource Centre and Interfaith Community Counselling Centre. We appreciate your sponsorship of our Home Tour and have attached a picture of a Dirt Cheap Bag at the Perna home on Fairview Street. Once again, thanks for your support.
Dear Friends of Baden Public School and Valued Supporters, In case you haven’t heard our 2014 Baden Backyard BBQ was an incredible success. This accomplishment can only be attributed to the continued support of generous contributors like you! Baden School Community is very fortunate to have the local support of big-hearted local companies and individuals who donate both time and items for our BBQ, Raffle and Silent Auction. The success of this event is the direct result of hours of hard work, planning and commitment. Please accept our sincere THANKS for YOUR generosity and commitment to Baden Public School and our Annual Backyard BBQ. This event has become a fantastic community tradition and we are delighted you are a part of it. As the major School Council fundraiser, money raised from the event will be used towards upgrading school technology, improving resources in the arts and music departments, class trips, guest speakers, and outdoor playground equipment, as well as many other ongoing council projects throughout the upcoming school year. Please know that YOU are appreciated and WE are GRATEFUL.
